JBP works with financial services firms across Japan to help foreign companies to identify, approach and engage in negotiations with potential acquisition targets or equity investors in Japan. At the client’s request, we also act as a financial adviser in collaboration with our partner firms as needed, and coordinate financial and legal due diligence.

Our fees consist of upfront, retainer and success fees, the amount and weight of each are decided based on the time and resource required to undertake the assignment as well as the likelihood of success.

Our Unique Approach

The years over, JBP has built collaborative relationships with regional banks across Japan who identify and approach potential sellers and buyers within their customer database. They also contribute their own resource to help JBP execute deals.

JBP source cross-border deals from overseas partners who are prominent financial services, M&A advisory or law firms. JBP also shares a list of acquisition target search requests it receives from Japanese clients for the overseas partners to search appropriate targets in their countries.
